Weekend Roundup: May 3rd - May 5th

Happy Friday!  Here's a roundup of events happening this weekend in Brooklyn:

Friday, May 3rd:
  • Love food and books?  Then the Food Book Fair is just for you.  Events throughout the weekend take place in various locations throughout Williamsburg; check website for details. 
  • Catch Ken Boothe in a rare Brooklyn appearance at Littlefield tonight.  Tickets starting at $14.  622 Degraw Street, 9PM.
  • The Royal Ballet of Cambodia performs at BAM with a performance choreographed by a real-life princess {!!}.  Tickets starting at $20.  BAM, 30 Lafayette Avenue.  Performances tonight and Saturday at 7:30PM.
Saturday, May 4th:
  • Attend "Brooklyn Bridge Park: How a Waterfront Park Survived the Storm", a free tour on how the Park was designed to withstand Hurricane Sandy.  Free.  Meet at the corner of Old Fulton and Water Street in front of the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory; tours at 9AM-10AM and 12PM-1PM.
  • Purchase goods from local artisans and designers at the Spring Handmade Cavalcade, sponsored by the Etsy New York Street Team.  Free.  50 N 3rd Street, 10AM-5PM.
  • Shopping for plants more your thing?  The Cobble Hill Tree Fund is hosting its annual plant sale.  Free.  Clinton and Congress Streets, 10AM-2PM.
  • Looking for places to watch the Kentucky Derby and drink mint juleps {or just drink, we won't judge}?  Check out Maison Premiere, which is airing the Kentucky Derby over radio.  298 Bedford Avenue, 2PM-8PM.  Starting at 1PM, The Bell House is hosting an all-day Derby party, complete with hats, square dancing, and karaoke.  $10.  149 7th Street, 1PM.
Sunday, May 5th:
  • Happy Cinco de Mayo!  To celebrate, Roberta's is throwing an all-day Cinco de Mayo party.  261 Moore Street, 2PM-10PM. 
  • Or you can celebrate by doing a little drunk shopping at Bird203 Grand Street, 3PM-6PM.
