Weekend Roundup: May 17th - May 19th

Happy Friday!  Here's a roundup of events happening in Brooklyn this weekend:

Friday, May 17th:
  • Theater 2020 presents the Shakespeare classic, "A Midsummer Night's Dream," which is always fun to see.  $18 (cash only).  21 Sidney Place, 8PM.
  • Rooftop Films presents the "Brothers Hypnotic" with a live performance by the brothers themselves to follow.  Free.  5 MetroTech Center, doors open at 8PM.

Saturday, May 18th:
  • Come cheer on everyone running {myself included!} in the Brooklyn Half today!  Free.  Check website for recommended viewing spots, 7AM.   
  • Today's your last chance to see "The Exploding Mind of Mulholland Hwang" and "2Fik's Museum" at the Invisible Dog.   Read my review of "The Exploding Mind of Mulholland Hwang" here.  Free.  51 Bergen Street, 1PM-7PM.
  • Tour the Mystic Whaler, a reproduction of a 19th century schooner, at Brooklyn Bridge Park.  Free.  Pier 5, Brooklyn Bridge Park.  Saturday, 1:30PM-4:30PM, and Sunday, 1PM-4PM.
  • The Second Annual Lit Crawl takes place in Cobble Hill tonight, with plenty of events featuring writers and poets.  Free.  Check the schedule for locations, 5PM-8PM.

Sunday, May 19th:
  • Street fair alert!  The Fabulous Fifth Avenue Fair takes place today.  Free.  Fifth Avenue, from 12th Street to Sterling Place, 12PM-5PM.
  • Celebrate the 130th anniversary of the completion of the Brooklyn Bridge by listening to a reading of Hart Crane's "The Bridge."  Free.  Granite Prospect, Brooklyn Bridge Park, 3PM.  
  • Missed out on BKLYN Designs last week?  You can catch reMADE's "FINGERSPITZENGEFUHL", a pop-up gallery of work from local artists and designers.  Free.  469 Dekalb Avenue, 5PM-1PM.
